Updated at: 1030 PST, Saturday, June 20, 2009

WASHINGTON: A two-minute animation film depicting U.S. President Barack Obama as a superhero who has come to "save the day," fixing all the woes from the economy to foreign threats was shown for the first time on Friday at a dinner the President attended at the invitation of the media.

The video, "He's Barack Obama," was shown at the Radio and Television Correspondents' Association annual dinner at the Convention Center in Washington D.C.

In this video superhero Obama fixes health care, wins the war in Iraq and gets rid of the Taliban with a "kung fu chop." Obama is also shown leaping a building, launching into outer space and doing other superhumanly deeds.

Obama appears as himself in a video clip within the animation. In the clip he answers a phone, announces the most recent threat - "Pirates!" - and then rips open his shirt to reveal his superhero costume underneath his suit before he takes off to go fight the enemies.
